The God of the Bible
The God of the Bible is awesome. There are critics who believe that Christians stole our God from the gods of the Greeks and Romans. Nothing could be further from the truth. The God of the Bible is awesome. There are critics who believe that Christians stole our God from the gods of the Greeks and Romans. Nothing can be further from the truth. Those who created the Greek and Roman gods did not have the benefit of God’s revelation and due to the lack of the correct information they viewed god as merely a super human being. Their gods were humans who had risen to a higher stage of evolution so they could run faster, were stronger, and could interfere with human life but they were still very sinful. Historically, when those in Babel (Genesis 11) were dispersed they went throughout the world and eventually their stories degraded so that the gods no longer resembled the God of the Jews. Mythology is what happens when people do not accept the Biblical view of God. The same is true for the Gods of LDS apologists. Heavenly Father began as a sinful man on some planet, obeyed the Gospel Doctrines, was saved, became Temple worthy, died, joined the LDS missionary force in the Hadean world, was resurrected to the Celestial heavens, and eventually, with his wives, was given a part of the universe to physically populate. The only difference between the LDS gods and those of the Greeks and Romans is that the LDS Heavenly Father is a good God. Despite that difference the same underlying philosophy which created the gods of mythology created the Gods of the LDS apologists. LDS apologists claim that Heavenly Father is “from everlasting to everlasting” but since Heavenly Father had a beginning as a God, then that phrase begins at the point in which Heavenly Father became a God. The God of the Bible is radically different for the Scriptures, God’s former self-revelation, clearly teach there was never a time in which the he was anything other than Deity. As Deity, he is truly “from everlasting to everlasting.” My friend, do you see the difference?
